My name is Emiliano. I was born and raised in Rome and I work as a journalist and a translator.

My passion for coin collecting started when I was just 5 years old. My father was a very frequent traveler and every time he returned home from one of his travels he had this "ritual" of emptying his pockets into a bowl that was sitting on a desk right next to our entrance door.

I was curious and seduced by those shiny discs of metal with all those exotic designs, so I started collecting them and my dad - a collector too - was more than happy to fetch me lots of coins from every corner of the globe.

When I was in my 20s, my collection already amounted to more than 10,000 different pieces (I collect circulation coins by types, minted since 1900 to date).

Some years ago, in 1999, I discovered the joys of online swapping. Through hundreds of swaps with lots of fellow collectors I was able to reach the 20,000 mark in less than ten years  and I am now approaching the 25,000 goal.

I decided to open this online shop because collecting can be an expensive hobby and also because I have tons of doubles: with a collection as big as mine it is getting increasingly hard to find missing coins in other collectors' swaplists, so I mostly buy coins in shops and I thought that it would be good to sell some of my extra coins to make my hobby more sustainable.
